About the Course
This course is an introduction to the
aims and guiding principles of system and network administration. It aims
to provide the student with the necessary skills to set-up, operate, and
maintain a server and network system. Topics include: system administration
concepts and issues, TCP/IP fundamentals, addressing and routing, network
services, network planning and design as well as tutorials on how to configure
network hosts, interfaces, routing and services in both Unix and Windows
environments. It also covers an introduction to TCP/IP network configuration,
