About the Course
An introduction to the programming tools and skills required for building and maintaining sites and applications on the Web, with the basic assumption that students have already had prior background and skill in procedural and object-oriented programming. Topics include the Web programming model and the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), client-side technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript, server-side technologies such as PHP, ASP and Java Servlets and integrating other application layer services such as databases into Web applications. This course requires students to do some programming through scripting languages (i.e. JavaScript, VBScript, PHP, and ASP). By the end of this course students should be able to:
