About the Course

Credit Units 3
Lecture Hours 3
Laboratory Hours 0
Pre-requisite None

The course covers an introduction to design and analysis of algorithms, including algorithms for sorting and searching; analysis, use, and implementation of data structures important for information processing systems, including stacks, queues, lists, strings, trees, and hash tables. The course starts with a review of object oriented concepts using Java.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • apply object-oriented concepts in implementing data structures;
  • analyze algorithms and determine their running times;
  • create multiple implementations of basic abstract data types; and
  • recognize and use common algorithms and data structures.
