This
advanced seminar is designed to provide students with an introduction to
programming web-based applications using PHP and ASP. Students will
learn how to design, code and implement dynamic web sites. This course
will provide the student an understanding of HTML and XML to the development
of powerful web applications that can be deployed over the Internet.
By the end of this course you should be able to:

Understand web architecture in the context of dynamic web
sites;

Demonstrate an understanding of ASP and PHP’s classes and methods and how
they can facilitate the reuse of code when object-oriented programming
techniques are applied;

Write basic PHP and ASP scripts;
-
Manage PHP and ASP scripts on UNIX and Windows Platforms;
-
Utilize PHP and ASP built-in functions in their web applications;
-
Debug
PHP and ASP scripts; and
-
Create and manage databases using MS SQL and MySQL.
