  • Congratulations to the Computer Science Program for having been accorded Level II accreditation by PAASCU for a 3-year period. [Date posted: June 2002]
  • 2 February 2002 was declared a holiday by the President of the Philippines. MSIT classes, though, will push through as scheduled. Undergraduate classes may be conducted at the discretion of the faculty.
  • Congratulations to Mark Vicente (4BSCS), Matt Baluyos (4BSCS), and Raymond Olavides (4BSCS) for winning 1st Place in the 1st ICT Challenge - Webpage Making Contest held last 15 November 2001 at Dynasty Court Hotel.
  • DCS announces the completion of two new facilities at the Computer Center.  Starting 3 December 2001, XUCC will be opening Laboratory F and the Networks Laboratory.  They are located at the 4th Mezzanine and 5th Floor, respectively.  Lab F houses 40 high-end computers.  This will cater to advance computer courses for engineering and computer science students.  The Networks Laboratory will be the venue for computer network classes of the BS Computer Science and MS Information Technology students.  Facilities of this new laboratory, most of which are CHEd-funded, include routers, switches, hubs, and high-end servers.
  • Congratulations to Noel Eddie Saracanlao (4BSCS) for having been chosen as one of the three BPI Science Awardees for Year 2002.
  • XUCC-DCS welcomes the pioneering students of the MS in Information Technology Program.
  • XUCC-DCS has recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Sun Microsystems, Philippines (SunPhil).  Starting 2nd Semester, SY 2001-02, XU will be part of a network of schools known as Java sa Eskwela (JsE) Program Centers.
